Windows Questions – SevenForums, EightForums & TenForums got a new sister

I have been a proud and satisfied member of Windows forums owned and maintained by Designer Media Ltd from Manchester, UK. The company’s Windows forums, (Vista Forums, Seven Forums, Eight Forums, Ten Forums) have been my virtual home since June, 2009. I have enjoyed my time on these forums, participating on them has been my main reason for being online on my free time. I feel quite proud that I have been able to contribute something, my tutorials having almost 20 million views, and my Windows videos posted on Ten Forums video thread having close to 2 million views.

In addition to these Windows Forums, the company also owns Help me bake, a site for baking enthusiasts.

John Fairbrother, aka z3r010, has now published a new Windows site https://www.windowsq.com (Windows Questions, WinQ). As far as I know, John got the idea of a new site after testing new forum software on a private site, being somewhat unsatisfied with vBulletin software used for instance on Ten Forums. Windows Questions is using more flexible and versatile Xenforo software.

Being satisfied with Xenforo, but finding it extremely difficult (if not impossible) to change Ten Forums software, it was better to create a new site from scratch.

Site is finally up and running, after testing it and new forum software with small number of trusted, old members from his other forums. All is now ready, site is looking pretty good:

Click to open enlarged in a new tab.

No worries, geeks. The staff and team are the same than on other Designer Media Windows forums. I guess that the long term plan is to get traffic from especially Ten Forums moved to Windows Questions. If so, I think it is a good plan.

I wholeheartedly recommend you to join Windows Questions, and follow it on Twitter. I really think it is a site Windows users will be talking about!
